Laquan Williams, 42, also known as “ChinaMan,” has been sentenced to 16 years and 8 months in federal prison for his involvement in multiple bank fraud schemes. According to federal prosecutors, Williams recruited individuals to impersonate bank customers using fake IDs to withdraw money, transfer funds, and deposit stolen U.S. Treasury checks. One stolen check alone was allegedly worth $13.9 million!

Authorities say the Treasury-check scheme was intended to steal over $30million, with at least $1.15 million in actual losses. Across the broader case, the schemes caused at least $1.8 million in losses. When federal agents arrested Williams in May 2024, they recovered over 1,000 stolen or altered checks, hundreds of counterfeit IDs, equipment used to manufacture fake documents, and two loaded firearms.

Williams had previously been sentenced to over five years in federal prison for similar crimes in 2018 and was still on supervised release when he allegedly committed the new offenses. He pleaded guilty to bank fraud conspiracy and aggravated identity theft before receiving his latest sentence.

TikToker Bryce Hall was arrested in Nevada on allegations of felony domestic violence, according to court records. Learn more about his arrest at the link in bio.

What does it mean to show up for someone?

Sometimes it’s a friend who stays on the phone. A teacher who notices something is off. A counselor, mentor or parent who knows when to listen. And sometimes, it’s a community coming together to make sure more young people have somewhere to turn.
Last night, Founder @selenagomez hosted the 4th annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit to celebrate the people and organizations doing exactly that.

We are proud to support the Rare Impact Fund through our commitment to donate 1% of sales to the Fund, helping advance its work alongside 30 nonprofit partners across five continents Preaching more than 3.5 million young people each year.

A special thank you to our sponsors - @ultabeauty @pacsun @lululemon @afterpayusa @batchandbox @disney @uclahealth @beis @fabitfun @tajinusa @diageo @paradisespringswinery @alaskaair @daveshotchicken- for making this night possible, and to @seanhayes @itsbellakayyy @leonbridges @rae.sada for sharing their time and talent with us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to show up for young people around the world.

We all need someone. We can all be that someone.❤️
