As we head into Shabbat, we’re spotlighting Maddie’s (@maddiemelrose) journey from attending CLTC 1 2024 to becoming your CLTC 1 2027 BBG Coordinator! ❤️ At CLTC, Maddie met Jewish teens from around the world who quickly felt like family, while making memories during chapter time, Chofesh, and so much more. Inspired by coordinators who pushed her outside her comfort zone and guided her BBG and AZA learning, Maddie knew she wanted to give that experience back. Now, she’s excited to help emerging leaders find their love for BBYO and recognize that the future of Jewish leadership is in their hands. For Maddie, CLTC comes down to three words: belonging, growth, and family. “There is nothing in this world more impactful for Jewish teens than BBYO summer. You have the opportunity to make friends that last a lifetime, develop leadership skills, all while deepening your Jewish identity.” Shabbat Shalom from Maddie and the #BBYOsummer2027 family! Get ready to register next Tuesday and join Maddie at CLTC 1! ☀️

🌿 Desi Amla Singhdana Tadka Chutney 🌿 comment down to get all my Amla recipes in one place. It’s a pdf containing different delicious ways to include Amla in your diet♥️ super helpful 🤌 A little tangy, a little spicy, beautifully crunchy, and full of fresh flavours! ❤️ This is my desi-style amla chutney, made with fresh amla, roasted singdana, crushed garlic, fresh herbs, and a sizzling mustard oil tadka! 🌿 It’s a delicious way to incorporate seasonal amla into your meals without having to eat it plain or drink it as a shot. And the best part? It’s not just about vitamin C! This chutney brings together healthy fats, fibre, antioxidants, and plenty of flavour in every spoonful. Here’s something I absolutely love about adding amla to a desi thali! 🌿 Amla is naturally rich in vitamin C, which helps your body absorb non-heme iron (the type of iron found in plant foods) more efficiently. So, when you pair this chutney with your everyday dal, legumes, leafy greens, or other iron-rich vegetarian meals, you’re not just adding flavour, you’re also helping your body make better use of the iron on your plate! ❤️ 🌿 Every ingredient brings something to the table! 🟢 Amla: Rich in vitamin C and polyphenols; supports collagen formation, immune function, and plant-based iron absorption. 🥜 Roasted singdana (peanuts): Provides heart-friendly unsaturated fats, plant protein, fibre, and vitamin E. 🧄 Garlic: Crushing raw garlic activates the formation of allicin, a beneficial sulfur compound with antimicrobial and potential heart-health benefits. Since we’re not cooking the garlic, more of this heat-sensitive compound can be preserved 🧅 Onion: Provides quercetin, an antioxidant flavonoid, along with prebiotic fibres. 🍅 Tomatoes: Contain lycopene, a carotenoid with antioxidant properties. 🌱 Coriander & mint: Add flavour, small amounts of micronutrients, and beneficial plant compounds. 🌶️ Green chillies: Contribute vitamin C and capsaicin, along with that lovely spicy kick. 🌿 Mustard oil: Provides unsaturated fats and adds that unmistakable pungent desi flavour. 🍋 Lemon: Adds another little boost of vitamin C, supporting iron absorption.
