one year of a song i wrote when i didn’t feel very much like a person and all i could write over and over was the line it hurts to stand . this song was about all the times in my life i had felt out of my body, when seeking pain and using other people’s hands to hurt me seemed to be the way to feel something , all the times my body worked against me , the feeling of being a ghost inside a machine malfunctioning and creaking in the vocoder

you have made a song that felt very heavy into something very cathartic and when i sing this song on stage i have never felt more in my body and more present in a way that brings me pleasure instead of pain
