VONY n4 - The Leg
This object symbolizes autonomy. Going through a social separation we face a clash to not be recognized any more as a part of something bigger, for instance, a circle of friends, family, or a couple.
The leg of a table appears to be just one component of a bigger structure, it only exists for one function. Yet, paradoxically, the sculpture means complete life on its own. To emphasize its autonomy, four legs carry four legs.
The idea behind this is the empowerment of personal recognition.
#VONY meaning ‘they’ in Ukrainian.
They are motionless — yet emotional.
They are rock hard — yet sensible.
Steatite stone, 6 x 6 x 18 cm
