You really thought we were going to let Small Wildcat Week go by without posting about the sand cats!? Think again! 🐱🐾 💧 Sand cats can go months without drinking water, getting all the hydration they need just from their prey. 🐍 Sand cats hunt venomous snakes, like sand vipers and will even dig them out of the sand. 🐾 Sand cats have thick fur covering their paw pads, protecting their toe beans from scorching desert sand. 🏜️ They are the only wild cats that live primarily in true desert environments. Again, although they are friend-shaped, they are NOT friend! Sand cats are not pets and require very specialized care such as specific humidity requirements! ☀️
Fall called 🍁🍂🫶🏼 Let the grow out commence! #growingoutapixie #shorthair
Thank you so much for voting us through to week 6!! I promise you’ll love what we have planned. I want to shout out these two incredible women- my special guests in the audience tonight! Shoutout to @mamatotovillage, to @dr_nedhari and @mariahebarnette trailblazers in maternal health. I’m so proud to be on their board! See y’all next week ✊🏾
Thinking of building a home in the Dominican Republic? 🇩🇴 Here’s how we did it! (PART 1) After sharing our family villa journey, so many of you have asked about the process of building in the DR. So I sat down with my mom to share our experience, the steps we followed, and what we’ve learned along the way. A little backstory: Our villa is located in Las Galeras, Samaná, a quieter, less developed part of the Dominican Republic. When we first started looking for a luxury villa to rent in that area, we couldn’t find anything that fit what our family was looking for. That’s what inspired us to build our own! 📩 For serious inquiries about building in the Dominican Republic, my mom can help connect you with professionals we’ve worked with. Email her at buildinginlasgaleras@gmail.com. Here’s a breakdown of our process: 1. FIND YOUR LAND 📍 Hire a trustworthy lawyer and land surveyor to verify the property and make sure everything checks out before moving forward. 2. SECURE YOUR LAND 📝 Sign a Promise to Purchase Agreement, agree on a closing date with the seller, and put down your deposit. 3. FINALIZE YOUR PURCHASE 🔑 Complete the legal due diligence, clear the necessary paperwork, and pay the remaining balance to finalize your purchase. 4. HIRE AN ARCHITECT 📐 Create your architectural plans and layout. This is where you start bringing your vision to life! We’re still finishing our family villa in Las Galeras, and this experience has taught us SO much. In Part 2, we’re getting into engineers, building permits, construction, and the process of designing and sourcing everything for our home. Save this post if building a home in the Dominican Republic is on your vision board, and drop your questions below! 🇩🇴 #BuildingInDominicanRepublic #DominicanRepublicRealEstate #BuildingInDR #LasGaleras #DominicanRepublic
