Travelling to the other side of the world with Dice 🐾✈️🌍 Over 200kg of luggage, board bags, kitegear, a dog and everything we need for four months in Cape Town. Travelling light? Never heard of it 😂 If you think travelling to South Africa with a dog is easy, let me tell you, it’s a NIGHTMARE 😅 Every year I spend months sorting out all the paperwork, permits, blood tests and veterinary checks. But after all the packing, planning and travelling, seeing that happy face running around on the beach in Cape Town makes every bit of effort worth it 🥹❤️ A few things about flying with Dice. Dice is a certified medical service dog, which is why she’s allowed to fly in the cabin with me. During the 11-hour flight, she basically sleeps the entire time, usually on the floor between my legs. I always offer her food and water several times, but she never wants any. Sometimes she takes a little bit of water from my hand, but that’s about it. And somehow she holds her pee the entire flight! I always have a special mat in case she needs to go, but in all these years she’s never used it. Once we land, the first thing I do is take her for a walk. Oh and OO-MY-GOD, imagine doing all of this with two kids one day... I already feel like a travelling circus, so I have no idea how Giel and I are going to manage that. But stick around for a few more years and I guess we’ll find out 😂 #travelwithmydog #schiphol #travelvlog #capetown

Wouldn’t you be so lucky
Favorite holiday 💋
Dear Emma, My sweet girl. We were both babies when we met. I knew from the day I picked up your aunt & drove to Pennsylvania to get you, that I was going to love you with everything I had. What I didn’t know, is that over the next 13 years, you would be my only constant. Not in my wildest dreams could I have imagined or even wished for the unwavering love & companionship you would give me that would take me through so many chapters of my life…of our lives. thank you for giving me something to show up for. thank you for never allowing me to forget what love feels like. it’s crazy to think just how much of the last 13 years it was just me & you. thank you for saving me. I know I already told you this, but I’m sorry I couldn’t show up the same way the last couple of years. I was literally doing everything I could to survive. But I hope you know that every choice I made, I always put you first even when it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I remember all the crazy looks I’ve gotten over the years when I would tell people I would literally run in front of a bus for you bc I couldn’t imagine living in a world without you in it. The look of, “Oh wow, she’s serious,” makes me laugh when I think about it. They clearly didn’t know what a special little soul you were. Anyone who did felt the same way. I know in my heart, the only person who did, was your dad. So I put these pictures here for you to remind you how loved you were, you are, and you always will be. I have always said, in almost every beautiful memory I have with him, it was because of you. He’s a really special part of your story & you were lucky to have him. From being single & in my 20s, to moving & traveling all over the country, through marriage & divorce, through career highs & career lows, from the greatest joys & the deepest sorrows…you were always there. Richmond. Newly engaged. Our 1st move. Just the 2 of us. Charlotte, NC Los Angeles, CA Washington, DC Our 1st summer as solo gals Saying goodbye to you is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. But in enduring a heartache I’ve never known, I find solace in knowing I can bear the pain & suffering so that way you would never have to. You spent
I WOULD and HAVE worn all of these as regular outfits 💀 all of my fellow vintage loving people know the pain of strangers asking “where are you going dressed like that?!” when you are in fact, just wearing your normal clothes 🤡 so here are my favorite stereotypical things I wear all year! Outfit deets: 1) legit 1960s matching set by NPC fashions + 60s wooden shoes (no label) 2) 1970s handmade patchwork dress + 70s boots + hat (no labels!) 3) 70s does 1930s Hungarian blouse, thrifted Alter’d state corduroy skirt, legit 70s afghan coat and LEGIT 70s Jerry Edouard museum boots, same ones worn in the movie. They’re too small for my feet so they won’t be sticking around 😭 4) Disco diva fit is a modern jumpsuit by Lucy in the Sky. I was going to use an actual 70s sparkly jumpsuit but this one was 20% more stereotypical. 5) 70s flower dress by Dana Hall 6) 60s cutout dress, no label 7) legit 1950s dress by Slend-eze (💀) you can’t really tell but the print has tiny rollerskates on it!!!!!! Cute as heck and very stereotypical 8) 60s & 70s dress and cape + 60s butterfly boots by Sbicca 9) 60s boots and dress by Andy Andersons. Plz let me know if you’d also wear these on the reg 😚💖 & thx for coming! #1960s #1970s #vintageoutfit #vintagestyle #vintagefashion
