You may have seen the article in the echo over the weekend. Just wanted to let our customers know that in the last 2 and half years we haven’t felt the need to consider relocating as the Liverpool city region officers on behalf of Steve Rotherham have visited us multiple times and told the staff face to face that their jobs are safe and we will be protected. It was only a few weeks ago that they submitted plans without any reference to us going back on everything they had said.
We were really disappointed to hear that after so many of our wonderful customers took the time to submit their objections, the planning allocation stated only positive feedback had been received !!!
Those of you who know me will be aware my background is in the music industry so, let’s set the record straight - pun intended:
- Ashwell Motors is the only business threatened by catastrophic failure
- Officers have not made one design change to save our business
- Officers have not made any suggestions in 2 & a half years of discussions
- Andrew Lewis (Liverpool council chief excutive) states ‘officers are committed to working with the business to find a solution’
- There are now only two solutions ‘Customer Parking’ - this WILL NOT happen as it would already be in the design solution or ‘Relocation’ - I’ve been here 40 years and want to stay and nobody has discussed relocation in 2.5 years, let alone done any work to identify a potential site to relocate!
- Officers haven’t found one solution in 2 & a half years, how will they find one after planning consent
- LCRCA also failed to report how many consultees want Ashwell Motors to be saved!
Furthermore, why are both LCRCA & LCC referencing a ‘spokesperson’ - why are public servants hiding behind such a title, is it to avoid being held to account for lies or have they got something to hide - just read the article ! https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/i-just-want-stay-here-30960501?utm_source=app
