This time last year, Mum was here for the first time. Full circle to now, with her three daughters and husband by her side, getting to see my world, the daily steps I take, the life I’m building, and the things they’re so far removed from. Back to back games since December. The minutes, the rhythm, and the enjoyment back in my legs. Becoming the person I once dreamed of being. Surrounded by friends who have become loved ones, who make life that little bit lighter. The kind who stand in the rain with you, who have witnessed every version of me and loved me through each one. Looking back at how far I’ve come, and forward to everything still to come. Mum would be so proud.
