Psalm 65.
What a line.
What a Psalm.
It's a Psalm that opens with the fact that God hears us. He knows us. Knows our thoughts and innermost being. The Psalm then juxtaposes this against God's immense creative power and ability to be a caretaker for the earth.
That the earth is His and the fulness thereof.
That His eye is on the sparrow.
On the lilly.
As if scripture is saying, “Look what else I take care of. Don't think you are forgotten.”
I was reminded tonight of gentle prayers I had prayed where I never really expected a response and how they were answered almost immediately.
I was reminded of the fact that He is listening even when we think He isn’t. How He cares and pays attention to the smallest, almost inconsequential elements of our lives.
That despite how we feel, He's still in control and hears the cries of those He created.
