My beautiful mom would’ve turned 80 years old today. It’s been just over 2 years since she left her body. I miss her (and my dad) so much. Hug your people tight and love on one another.

I was going to add the song by Queen, ‘You’re my best friend’ to this post, but I didn’t want it to omit the audio of her that you can hear in the one video I included.

She often sang songs to me, and we often sang together, off-key, usually fighting back tears. I always want to remember her signing that Queen song to me, with me. 🥹

Boy oh boy did she love singing along with Freddie Mercury.

That reminds me of one Thanksgiving, many years ago, after I’d moved out of our family home, when I brought some friends and a boyfriend home for dinner, and once everyone had taken a seat at the table, she took out a little tape player boom box and played ‘teach your children well’ by Crosby Stills, Nash and Young, and got down on the floor next to my chair on her knees, and sang loudly while holding my hands, staring into my eyes.

I BAWLED my eyes out at the table. 😭At the time I was mad that she did that, because she knew I would cry and ruin my makeup. Oh how I’d love to have her sing to me now! 💔

Speaking of my mom and music, one music-centric gift that my mom and dad gave Ian- the gift of piano lessons- has been the gift that keeps on giving. They would be SO PROUD of him and so overjoyed to hear him play. He plays for hours a day, usually from my dad’s old music books, often serenading me to sleep. I am so fortunate. 🎵🎹🎼

Neighbors, have y’all heard about this? A Texas inmate is seeking immediate release from jail after allegedly being sexually assaulted by multiple inmates in an attack that was reportedly captured on surveillance video.
—————————
The 34-year-old man was assaulted inside the Jack Harwell Detention Center in McLennan County, where court documents state that several inmates allegedly attacked him while three others held him down. His attorney, Mona Keathley, has filed emergency motions requesting that her client be released on a personal recognizance bond or placed on GPS ankle monitoring while he awaits sentencing.
—————————
According to Keathley, the alleged attack was triggered after a female jailer wrongfully identified her client as a pedophile in front of other inmates, allegedly putting him in danger. Court documents reveal that Davante Trevon Hicks, 22, Joseph Morgan Ivy, 24, and Sirdale Marcus McNelton, 31, have each been charged with aggravated sexual assault and engaging in organized criminal activity in connection with the incident.
—————————
Keathley further alleges that two additional jailers witnessed her client naked inside the cell with the alleged attackers but failed to intervene despite his screams and cries for help. The attorney also claims her client is now being held in segregation without access to basic hygiene products, the ability to call family members by phone, or necessary medical care. Thoughts?

Noor Bukhari dismisses speculation about getting lip fillers, clarifying that her fuller-looking lips in the previous video were simply the result of lip gloss. She also expressed disappointment that despite delivering a powerful message, people chose to focus on her appearance rather than the message itself. #NoorBukhari
