2 days agoDO NOT LIVE HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A COLLEGE STUDENT! I lived at The Landing from 2022–2024, and it was one of the worst apartment experiences I’ve had. Now, TWO YEARS after moving out, they have involved debt collectors over a couch that was already used, peeling, and damaged when I moved in. They are attempting to charge THREE former tenants approximately $710 EACH for the SAME couch—over $2,100 total! I even submitted a maintenance request about the couch while living there, but management never properly addressed it. I have screenshots and emails documenting these issues, including staff indicating they would consider reducing the charges, which they have since refused to do. The apartment was not properly cleaned or inspected before move-in, and the furniture was already in poor condition. Multiple staff members acknowledged these issues. We also dealt with numerous unresolved maintenance problems, including moisture and mold issues related to old windows that caused me to throw away over $300 worth of personal belongings. As college students, we dealt with unnecessary stress trying to get management to address problems that should have been resolved before we moved in. We were patient and eventually stopped pushing, only to be pursued for questionable charges years later. I’ve lived at other student apartments in Greenville and NEVER experienced anything like this. It’s ridiculous that management is trying to charge former tenants for pre-existing damage that was reported during our lease. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE SIGNING A LEASE HERE. Document EVERYTHING because apparently even reporting existing damage through maintenance requests isn’t enough to prevent charges years later.
