The annual Cabin Fever Expo in Lebanon, PA did not disappoint this year! This was my first time attending the show, it’s been on my list for a couple years now - just waiting on work and the weather to align in order to make the six hour trip from Buffalo. The show ran Friday-Saturday and the crowds were unbelievable Saturday morning; in the future I’ll either try to swing the Friday show or show up after noon on Saturday.
The format of the show is geared towards scale engineering - lot of live steam, mechanical models and of course RC equipment, which had it’s own building. The layout was pretty simple, a huge dirt pile with several areas to run equipment. From what I could gather, the areas were divided into friend groups. The exterior of the pit had a an elevated track for the RC trucks to cruise and park (more on those in a later post). I would love to know the total number of RC pieces at the show - my guess would be well over 150.
This show was very much like IMCATS, only everything moved. I really enjoy attending these types of events, it’s nice to meet people with a passion for their hobby and a drive to share it with others, it’s refreshing. Big thanks to everyone who brought stuff out and to those who helped organize the show! Also big thanks to
@_austins_models and Scale Model Mining Matt for letting me hang out with them and their dragline crew!
