🤔 Wolfs is a 2024 American action-comedy written and directed by Jon Watts (of the recent *Spider-Man* films) and starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt as two rival professional fixers—essentially high-end “cleaners” who discreetly handle messy situations for powerful clients. The story unfolds over a single chaotic night in New York City when both men are independently hired for the same job: covering up the apparent death of a young man in a luxury hotel suite belonging to a Manhattan district attorney (Amy Ryan). Forced to work together despite their preference for operating as lone wolves, the pair must navigate complications involving drugs, gangsters, and an increasingly complicated situation while trading barbed banter. Supporting players include Austin Abrams as the young man at the center of the mess, with the film leaning heavily on the easy, movie-star chemistry between Clooney and Pitt, who previously co-starred in the *Ocean’s* trilogy. The movie premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2024 before receiving a limited theatrical release and streaming on Apple TV+ later that month, where it quickly became the platform’s most-viewed film. Critics were mixed (roughly 67% on Rotten Tomatoes), frequently praising the leads’ charisma, slick style, and throwback buddy-comedy energy while noting that the plot is somewhat thin and formulaic. A sequel was initially greenlit but later did not move forward following Apple’s decision to scale back the film’s theatrical ambitions. Overall, *Wolfs* stands as a lightweight but enjoyable star vehicle that plays to the strengths of its two leads.

What a whirlwind the last two weeks have been. I got to play with @tedeschitrucksband and @treyanastasio at @ericclapton’s @crossroadsguitarfestival. I inducted my friend Paul Reed Smith of @prsguitars into @guitarcenter’s RockWalk. I celebrated @therealbuddyguy’s 90th birthday with my extended musical family at @radiocitymusichall. I announced @spherevegas shows. I played a special one-off solo show in my home state of CT at @mohegansun. I jammed with Dave Grohl for his @hopethemission charity event at @chaplinrecording. And in one of the more thrilling opportunities I’ve ever been given, I backed up the legendary @officialannielennox along with my dear sweet friend Wendy Melvoin @wigmusic on “Sweet Dreams,” which I think is apropos given the wild ride I’ve just been on. I’m a lucky dude. More fun soon…
