Mississippi officials have determined that a police officer was justified in a shooting that k*lled a 1-year-old Black boy outside a Walmart earlier this year.

On Monday (Oct. 19), Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office announced that no criminal charges would be filed against the officer involved in the June 14 d3ath of Kohen Wiley (pictured), who was f*tally shot while sitting inside a vehicle with his mother in Senatobia, Mississippi. The decision follows an investigation conducted by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

The sh00ting occurred after officers responded to a reported sh*plifting incident involving diapers and baby clothing at Walmart. According to authorities, officers attempted to stop a vehicle carrying Kohen, his mother, Vellesiya Wiley, and another woman. Investigators initially claimed the driver accelerated toward officers, nearly striking one of them, prompting an officer to open fire. Kohen was k•lled, and the woman driving the vehicle was cr•tically injured. Neither woman has been charged with shoplifting.

However, Kohen’s mother has disputed the police account, maintaining that the vehicle was not driving toward officers. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who represents the family, previously revealed that an independent autopsy indicated the bullet that k•lled Kohen entered from the side of his chest. Crump argued that the findings challenged the official explanation that the officer fired because the vehicle was approaching law enforcement.

The child’s d*ath sparked protests and demands for accountability, with his family repeatedly calling for authorities to release body-camera footage of the sh00ting. During an emotional press conference, Kohen’s mother said:

“I watched my baby take his first breath, and I watched my baby take his last breath.”

Despite the family’s concerns, the Attorney General’s Office concluded that the officer’s use of deadly force was justified. We continue to send our condolences to the family 🙏🏽

Wearing head-to-toe cream while reading the later chapters of Fourth Wing is the epitome of life imitating art. That book builds for hundreds of pages then gives an action-heavy payoff at the end, so bravo to him for dressing the part. Speaking of finishing, he’s probably going to need some attention after that cliffhanger, so I’m volunteering my lap...and my napkins. #WeLoveAClimax #hotdudesreading

With the Giants in position to win the NFC East, Terron Armstead proposes a blockbuster mock trade that would send Justin Herbert to New York in exchange for Jaxson Dart and two first-round picks.

"If you're the Giants GM, do you put together a package to trade for Justin Herbert right now? We see how he's playing. He hasn't played well at all, but you look at his career and what he's amassed over his career, you've seen the talent, you've seen the production, not in the playoffs, but you've seen what he's been able to do at the quarterback position," Armstead said.

"Now, if the ask is two first round picks and Jaxson Dart, do you do that? Do you make that trade as a New York Giants GM?"
