It’s called the mental load for a reason, because it’s truly a load. There is so much to think about and plan and organize when it comes to running a household and raising kids. No wonder moms are burning out when they are the ones carrying the majority of it. I choose to believe that there are many men in relationships with women who genuinely think that asking for a list is a normal and logical thing to do. But it’s not the answer. Frankly, it just adds more work to the plate of their partners. It’s just another thing to do. It’s another thing to remember. Let’s stop assuming that every part of managing the household is a woman’s responsibility to begin with, and start having open honest conversations early on about what mental parts of managing the household can be redivided. What things can you redivide at home? Do you struggle to talk about the mental load? Comment “Honest Motherhood” and I will send you the link to my memoir where I share my own journey with breaking from carrying too much in motherhood. #motherhood #momlife #mentalload #sharetheload #divisionoflabor emotionallabor householdchores marriage

Recently, the well-known Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Gupta passed away. It was during his funeral, when his 13-year-old daughter Dalai Gupta was seen showing her middle finger to the paps, who had surrounded their car. The late Sanjay’s wife Anuradha Lekhi Gupta took to social media through Milap Zaveri’s account and posted the following: ‘Sanjay loved his family and children immensely. Our children are adolescents who have suddenly lost their beloved father. Having grown up away from the glare of the limelight and the intrusive nature of paparazzi culture, they were deeply distressed by the sudden intrusion into their privacy at such a difficult time. In their grief and anguish, some of their reactions may have been directed towards certain members of the media. I sincerely regret any hurt this may have caused. I humbly request everyone to understand these reactions for what they truly are — the expressions of grieving children struggling to come to terms with an irreparable loss. I request you to kindly excuse them, and appeal to everyone to delete any content that may leave lasting emotional scars on their young minds. Please allow them the privacy, compassion, and space they need to grieve the loss of their father. With gratitude, Anuradha’.💔🙏🏻
