Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched a 24×7 Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) to tackle air pollution, bringing artificial intelligence, live CCTV surveillance, air-quality monitoring and field enforcement under one system. The initiative comes as the national capital prepares for its annual winter pollution crisis, with the government also introducing stricter restrictions on vehicles, construction activities and office attendance.

Inaugurated at DMRC’s IT Park in Shastri Park on October 1, the centre will monitor over 700 construction sites larger than 500 square metres using AI-enabled cameras and pollution sensors. Any spike in PM10 levels can trigger an automatic alert, allowing authorities to identify hotspots and deploy enforcement teams. The government has also linked 78 field teams through GPS-enabled vehicles, while Vayudoot personnel equipped with body cameras will provide live evidence of road dust, open burning and construction violations.

The technology-driven initiative complements Delhi’s Winter Pollution Master Plan, which introduces a 50% work-from-home arrangement for government and private offices, restrictions on non-BS-VI vehicles registered outside Delhi, and doubled parking charges at authorised facilities from November 1. A complete ban on most construction and demolition activities is scheduled between December 10, 2026, and January 20, 2027, with exemptions for essential projects. Vehicles without valid Pollution Under Control Certificates will also be denied fuel.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s electric vehicle transition is also gathering pace. Government figures reported by The Indian Express show electric two-wheeler registrations increased 30% between July and September 2026 compared with the preceding quarter. Electric goods vehicles recorded an 83% rise, followed by electric cars at 27% and three-wheelers at 18%. The Centre has also approved 382 sites for EV charging infrastructure, supporting Delhi’s target of electrifying at least 30% of its vehicle fleet by 2030.

100 days since you left me. After 21 years together.

I’m still grieving. My heart still aches.

Not many people know that you weren’t just my best friend. You were the sister I never had. My soulmate.

I don’t have a big family. I don’t have siblings. But I had you. And I don’t think anyone could ever truly understand how much you meant to me.

We went through everything together. From college, when we had no money and I was nobody. Marriage, divorce, bad decisions, difficult decisions, incredible moments, and all the secrets only we knew.

We promised to take those secrets to the grave. But now, you’re already there.

And what about all the places we dreamed of going together? I guess we’ll have to go without you now.

You saw it all. Me falling in love, getting my heart broken, crying, laughing, being terrified, angry, and everything in between.

You saw me at my worst. And you stayed.

You listened. You never judged. You watched me grow into the woman I am today.

I’m sad that you left. Sometimes, I’m angry. I keep asking why. I’ve searched for answers, but never found them.

You’re gone from this world, and a part of me is gone with you forever.

The truth is, I don’t want to stop being sad. Because losing you hurts.

There have been so many versions of me throughout my life. And now there’s another one.

The version of me after you left.

I’ve learned that I don’t have to move on. Because to me, moving on feels like leaving you behind. And I don’t ever want to forget you.

So I’ll move forward. With you no longer in this world. With my grief. With all our memories and all the love.

I’m a skeptic when it comes to the afterlife. But if there is one, I know whoever gets to meet you there will be grateful to have known you.

Just as I’ll forever be grateful for our 21 years together.

I love you forever, Arin.
