As Jio Platforms prepares for its anticipated IPO, veteran banker Uday Kotak has reflected on the significance of the Ambani family’s journey in India’s corporate history. Drawing a connection between Dhirubhai Ambani’s landmark 1977 Reliance IPO and Jio’s expected market debut, Kotak described the upcoming offering as a potential moment in history.

Reliance’s 1977 public issue marked a turning point in how Indian retail investors participated in the stock market, helping build a wider shareholder base around the company. Nearly five decades later, Jio Platforms is preparing for a potential listing that could become India’s largest IPO, bringing the company behind a major transformation in the country’s digital and telecom landscape into the public markets.

Kotak’s remarks also put the spotlight on the next generation of leadership, including Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani, as the group prepares for its next chapter. From Reliance’s early public-market journey to Jio’s digital ambitions, the anticipated IPO represents a significant milestone in the Ambani business legacy.

Last night I had the privilege of joining some incredible people in being an event Chair at London’s 2026 @amfar gala.

Congratulations to the wonderful @philiptreacy and @jeremyirons_ for their well deserved honours and thank you to @jamiemiller and @ritaora for their brilliant performances.

It was my first time attending and such an education to learn about the amazing work that has been funded by the charity over the last 40 years.

So good catching up with the gorgeous @kellyosbourne and lovely to meet @amfar CEO @kyle_t_clifford.

A wonderful evening in support of a cause that continues to matter so much.

If you’d like to learn more about the incredible work @amfar does, head over to their page. ❤

SWT foster family, we just released our latest monthly update — and what a special month it was! At Kaluku, the menagerie (including Bombi, Pips, Wangalla, Bumpy, Kaikai, Bungalu, Gruff, Bibi, Chamboi, and Korbessa, pictured here) was in fine fettle. Over at the Nursery, Alia started to shine as a nanny and the others attempted to keep Pardamat’s outsized ego kept in check, with middling success. Our Ithumba and Voi Reintegration Units saw the return of many familiar faces, while our Umani herd was awhirl with yet another elephant romance.
