Three years ago, Atusa Parsa bought a laundromat in Fullerton, Calif., after social media convinced her it would be a great investment. She quickly learned there were many things the content didn’t cover—like how to evict the drug dealers in the bathroom.

The once-humble laundromat has become a social-media supernova in recent years. Videos linger over the mounds of quarters and stacks of bills a store’s machines can generate, making the business look like a low-effort, high-reward way to pursue the American dream.

Happy Friday, friends! One more week until Halloween, so here’s a moody stack of some faves. Why does October always fly by? 💔

Thanks for tagging me in your black stack @tess_reads_books and I think @i.dont.give.a.fantasy.funk and @calliescoffeecafe many moons ago.

💫❔💫 What are your plans for the weekend? Orrrr what are you reading this week leading up to Halloween? I’ve got some fall gardening to tackle, and mandatory park time with the pups now that’s it’s cooled off and the goblins won’t overheat.
