Sean Strickland landed in Edmonton for UFC Fight Night and immediately started posting about the city. Strickland is in Alberta to corner a fighter at UFC Fight Night at Rogers Place on October 17, 2026, headlined by Mike Malott and Joaquin Buckley, and is not competing himself. After first defending Edmonton on X, he reversed course on Wednesday with a devastating roast, calling the city a trash can and posting photos and video from downtown, including a clip where he said a man lying behind a fence might be 💀 and joked he had to get out of there. The explosive posts, which also touched on Alberta separatism, sparked controversy and added to a relentless run of headlines for the dominant two-time UFC middleweight champion in mixed martial arts. “Dana used to say it was best vs. best, but today, it’s all about entertainment.” Undefeated flyweight and former UFC fighter Muhammad Mokaev calls out Dana White for releasing undefeated fighters, arguing that the UFC is prioritizing entertainment over sport: “From the business side, they’re right, but from the sport’s perspective, they’re wrong. At least they could have waited until their best fighters took away our undefeated records, rather than letting go of a guy who beat their No. 1 contender, not even in his prime.”
forever yours 🤍
