✨ 97 BILLION gallons ✨ — that’s how much imported water we replenished at the Whitewater Replenishment Facility in 2024. Compared to 77.6 billion gallons overall in 2023, this is a big win for our groundwater supply. 🙌
Did you know rain and snowmelt from surrounding mountains is minimal in the Coachella Valley and not enough to replenish the aquifer alone? This why we use imported Colorado River water to replenish the aquifer. As we enter 2025, we’re committed to continuing to advance our conservation strategy to protect our water supply for future generations. 🌊

My family's SCADA company used to monitor and control Whitewater. DWA could shut off the creek from the middle of Palm Springs. Also, Windy Pass was on track to becoming the wind sailing capital of the world if it wasn't for a couple kids drowning in the percolation ponds.
