✨ Dramatization of actual events ✨🤳💧 Today, we celebrate the amazing CVWD staff who are willing to jump in, have a little fun, and help us share important water messages with our community. It’s not always this glamorous, but it’s always a team effort. And as communications experts, it makes us love what we do. 🤝 Happy #GovernmentCommunicatorsDay to the storytellers and the water stars who make it all possible! Coachella Valley, your water is our promise. 🚰💯 #trend #watermanagement #coachellavalley #riversidecounty by @cvwdh2o
✨ 97 BILLION gallons ✨ — that’s how much imported water we replenished at the Whitewater Replenishment Facility in 2024. Compared to 77.6 billion gallons overall in 2023, this is a big win for our groundwater supply. 🙌 Did you know rain and snowmelt from surrounding mountains is minimal in the Coachella Valley and not enough to replenish the aquifer alone? This why we use imported Colorado River water to replenish the aquifer. As we enter 2025, we’re committed to continuing to advance our conservation strategy to protect our water supply for future generations. 🌊 Reminder that entering the river channel is dangerous and illegal. Our Collections team and mighty Vactor trucks are on the job! 🚚💦🛠️ Did you know Vactor trucks are built for some serious sewer line maintenance? Using high-pressure water jetting and powerful vacuum systems, they help our crews clean lines, remove buildup and keep wastewater flowing. Routine maintenance like this helps prevent issues before they become bigger problems and keeps our wastewater system working reliably for the communities we serve. 🤝💯 by @cvwdh2o

Rain may be rare in the desert, but stormwater protection is serious business. 🌧️🌊🏡 When heavy rain hits the Coachella Valley, stormwater needs somewhere to go. It takes planning, maintenance and a whole lot of infrastructure to be ready when the desert gets drenched. From channels and retention basins to other critical stormwater infrastructure, CVWD plays an important role in managing runoff and protecting communities across the Valley. Preparing for the rain before it arrives is a big part of keeping homes, roads and essential infrastructure protected. During #StormwaterAwarenessWeek, we’re recognizing the important work that goes into managing stormwater and preparing the Valley for when the next big storm rolls in. #NationalPreparednessMonth #WaterManagement #Rain #CoachellaValley by @cvwdh2o
Thinking about ditching the thirsty turf? There’s a rebate for that. 👀💦💰 Our Turf Conversion Rebate Program offers $2 per square foot to eligible domestic water customers (residential, commercial, and HOA) who replace qualifying turf with a water-wise landscape. And now, there’s a special opportunity for non-domestic customers, too. For a limited time, eligible non-domestic customers using well, recycled, or canal water can also receive $2 per square foot to make the switch. Ready to make your landscape more water-wise? Learn more about our Outdoor Rebate Programs in the bio link. 🏡💧 #homeownertips #desertlandscaping #nativeplants #watermanagement #coachellavalley by @cvwdh2o
When it comes to preparedness, we’re already on it. 👌💧🚨 Our Emergency Preparedness Plan is backed by plenty of work behind the scenes, including fire hydrant maintenance, water storage, infrastructure upgrades and coordination with local fire departments and first responders. With approximately 18,637 fire hydrants across 1,000 square miles and 174.2 million gallons of water stored across 68 reservoirs, keeping our system ready is a big job. And it’s one we work on every day to provide our customers with reliable water services 24/7, year round.
