Rain may be rare in the desert, but stormwater protection is serious business. 🌧️🌊🏡

When heavy rain hits the Coachella Valley, stormwater needs somewhere to go. It takes planning, maintenance and a whole lot of infrastructure to be ready when the desert gets drenched.

From channels and retention basins to other critical stormwater infrastructure, CVWD plays an important role in managing runoff and protecting communities across the Valley. Preparing for the rain before it arrives is a big part of keeping homes, roads and essential infrastructure protected.

During #StormwaterAwarenessWeek, we’re recognizing the important work that goes into managing stormwater and preparing the Valley for when the next big storm rolls in.
