Hi friends:) here’s a silly little preemptive video dump before our movie comes out so soon!! Big news, I have a song on the official Hunger Games SOTR album! Being a part of this franchise in any regard has been one of the greatest experiences and honors of my life, so to have a song in it too?🥹 Truly so insane. The song I wrote, “Half Alive” is written mostly in Maysilee’s perspective, but it’s truly how I felt about the family I made on this film. The people that hold you when you’re feeling half alive, the people that did. Ben was the first person I sent this song to, and Jo was the first I played it for in person. I made him cry hehe. I love you my Hunger Games family forever and ever. Thank you @francishlawrence , @ninajacobson , Debra Zane, Suzanne Collins, and everyone involved for making my dreams come true and trusting me with Maysilee. One of the best experiences of my life♥️♥️ cannot wait to share this movie and song with you all so soon HUNGER GAMES SUNRISE ON THE REAPING ALBUM! we had the time of our lives:)! This photo was taken when I was six and a half months pregnant with my daughter. 🤍 Looking at it now, you’d never know what was happening behind the scenes. I remember waking up at 2am, seeing those messages on his Apple Watch and feeling my entire world shift in seconds. I remember the anger. The shock. The heartbreak. Driving to another woman’s house in the middle of the night, desperate for answers I already knew deep down. And I remember going home, locking the doors and trying to make sense of how the man I was building a family with could betray me like that. But I also remember the fear that came afterwards. I was about to become a mum. I was terrified of facing motherhood alone. So I let him come back. For a long time, I judged myself for that. I questioned why I stayed, why I gave another chance and why I didn’t walk away when I found out. But healing has taught me that we can’t always understand the decisions we made when we were scared, hurt and simply trying to survive. Staying doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt. And not leaving straight away doesn’t make you weak. This wasn’t the first betrayal I’d experienced in that relationship, and it wasn’t the worst. There was so much more to process than I could ever have imagined that night. Sometimes, the hardest part isn’t just what someone did to you. It’s rebuilding your trust in yourself afterwards. Learning to recognise your worth again. Finding your voice. And understanding that someone else’s choices do not define you. If you’ve been betrayed, please stop punishing yourself for how you survived it. You made the decisions you could with the emotions, fears and circumstances you were facing at the time. You deserve to heal. You deserve peace. And you deserve a life that doesn’t keep you questioning your worth. 🤍 If you’re struggling to rebuild after betrayal, comment “REBUILD.” You don’t have to navigate the next chapter alone.
