Dear Concord Basketball,
I don’t even know where to begin, my whole life has been surrounded by basketball, and it’s come to an end. I’ll forever miss getting to see my friends after school everyday, I’ll miss the bruises, the team bonding, and the coaching staff. I want to thank each and every person I’ve met along this journey, those who’ve supported me along this part of my life. I never thought this day would come, when I had to say goodbye to something I’ve known for the last 13 years.
To the team, keep working hard, trust each other, and create those long lasting friendships. And please take care of my sisters while I’m gone. They’re the most important people in the world to me and I can’t believe I have to leave them behind. Having gotten to play the one game with them made me so incredibly proud of how far they’ve gotten and how far we’ve all come. I promise I’ll always be watching.
To Halle, we’ve watched each other grow, the team of 8-10 girls in our grade slowly shrink down to us two, and find its way to four. I wouldn’t want to spend these last six months with anyone else, I loved supporting you and watching you grow. I can’t believe our time has come to an end, I don’t know what I’ll do without you next year. We’ve known each other since kindergarten and played together since 3rd grade, I could practically call you my sister. Thank you for stepping up and helping me when my confidence was low, supporting me through every mistake, and helping me through these basketball seasons. You’re a great person and you mean so much to me and I cant even say how much I’ll miss you in college.
And lastly to my dad, you’ve always been my biggest supporter. From taking me to the earliest of practices, to the late games on school nights. Never missing a game. And don’t forget the tournaments hours from home. You’ve done it all behind the scenes, I think it’s important to bring it to the spotlight of how much you’ve done for me since the beginning. Not only being the best father but also the best friend I needed. I know how hard you try, how much labor you go through, how much money you spend. You’ll always be my #1.
Thank you CGBB,
#14out
