Thank you @fabulousmag for reaching out to me with interest in our story and giving me the opportunity to speak some more about what we have lived as a mother and a sister. And to tell part of the real life we (me, Princess and Precious) have lived without the fabrication by people who actually have no idea about our lives or even have access to us.
This story opportunity and photo shoot came around exactly 11 years to the month after Princess & Precious (and myself) done some work for fab mag all those years ago. Every single day that goes by I am just sort of on auto pilot. But whilst me and presh was shooting this day it really hit me. It should be Princess and Precious here shooting today with me in The background just supporting them. They could have gone on to do fantastic things and got opportunities for themselves for the amazing things they succeeded in life together as sisters. But we were there this day shooting because Princess is no longer here with us. It shouldn’t have been me here in front of the camera this day it should have been Princess and Precious for something amazing. It really made me emotional and it took me back to the days when Princess and Precious was shooting together. How little Princess was just an absolute natural in front of the camera. Born fabulous! I don’t know how me and Precious get through each day but each day we get through. We miss our Princess tremendously and we hope we make her proud each and every day in each and everything that we do. 🩵

I talked myself out of this for so long…

But I finally took the leap and went on my first backpacking trip into the backcountry… and WOW, you guys! 🥹

I’m so glad I got to work with Christian O’Connor, Backcountry Guide & Founder of @backpackarizona Before we even talked about trails or gear, he asked me two questions that completely changed how I approached this experience:

“What are your goals?”
“What do you hope to accomplish?”

Those questions shaped everything.

Over the next few posts, I’m sharing my unfiltered journey; the preparation, the gear, the unexpected moments on the trail and at camp, and even the one piece of gear that almost took me out. 👀😂

P.S. To everyone who answered my questions, shared advice, and helped me prepare… THANK YOU! I took your tips with me, and I’m so grateful for this community. 🫶🏾

More to come 🥰
