Sloan 2/5/2011 - 10/20/2026

This week, Duane and I had to say goodbye to my sweet girl Sloan. It happened so fast and it’s still hard to believe she’s gone.

My sweet little shadow, destroyer of bubble wrap, the best big sister and partner in wrestle mania to Roo; thank you for the fifteen and a half years of love, and laughs at your silliness, and snuggles. I always felt like a cool girl knowing I had a black cat best friend at home.

Gonna love and miss you forever my Sloan ❤️

Ferrero Rocher Burfi @drchintalskitchen

Whipped up in 10 minutes in the microwave 🙌🏾
These little Barfi are SO EASY to make and perfect for enjoying with family & friends or gifting over the festive season ✨

Happy Diwali 🪔

Chintal x

Ingredients

400g milk powder
2 × 397g tins condensed milk
200g dark chocolate
150g @nutellauk
75g chopped hazelnuts, plus extra for decorating
6 @ferrerorocheruk chocolates, quartered (optional, for decorating)
Gold leaf (optional, for decorating)

1️⃣ Add the milk powder and condensed milk to a large microwave-safe bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.

2️⃣ Cook on high power in the microwave for 90 seconds. Carefully remove and stir well. Microwave for a further 60 seconds, stir again, then heat for another 30 seconds. The mixture should become thick and come together as it cools

3️⃣ Transfer the barfi mixture into the 20 x 20cm mould and press it down firmly, spreading it evenly into the corners, then place in the fridge to cool and set.

4️⃣ Break the dark chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high power for 60 seconds, then continue in 15-second bursts, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth.

5️⃣ Stir the Nutella into the melted chocolate until combined, then mix in the 75g chopped hazelnuts.

6️⃣ Pour the chocolate hazelnut mixture over the chilled barfi and spread evenly. Arrange the quartered Ferrero Rocher on top, sprinkle with extra chopped hazelnuts and add gold leaf if using.

7️⃣ Return the mould to the fridge until the chocolate topping is completely set. Carefully release the barfi from the silicone mould and cut into 20 equal pieces.

✨ Microwave power varies: Stir thoroughly between heating intervals and keep an eye on the Burfi mixture to prevent hot spots.

✨To make slicing easier, use a sharp knife warmed under hot water and dried between cuts for neat, clean slices.
