⬇️⬇️CAPTION⬇️⬇️ When I first went hands-on with the gold Monolith Tiger Eye from @svea.atelier , it was clear that this isn’t just another watch. Founded by Francis Jacquerye, former Head of Design at Longines, this independent Swedish brand approaches the wristwatch as a pure mid-century design object. Experiencing this piece firsthand, its focus on sculptural geometry, balanced proportions, and rich materials feels incredibly refreshing. Visually, the watch makes an immediate statement with its bold, integrated architecture. It is impossible to ignore that the Monolith looks a lot like the iconic vintage Rolex King Midas, beautifully channeling that same legendary, block-of-gold presence and silhouette. On the wrist, the gold PVD-coated stainless-steel case cuts an ultra-thin profile at just 5.5mm thickness, sitting perfectly flat. To achieve the ideal 1970s look, the brand revived a traditional technique: a hand-done wheel brush finish. This subtle, artisan brushing brightens the gold metal with a warm, vintage texture that modern machines cannot replicate. The star of this Atelier Series piece is the natural stone dial, accented by a clean applied logo. The team hand-selects every single Tiger Eye dial, curating only the slabs with the most aesthetically pleasing, character-rich grain lines. Cut from genuine stone, the warm, banded golden-brown finish is entirely unique to each watch. Everything is protected beneath a sapphire crystal with a 6-layer anti-reflective coating that makes the glass feel invisible, letting the stone grain pop. The matching gold bracelet is engineered with screw-down, easy-release links for seamless sizing. Hand-assembled in Skåne, Sweden, it balances vintage character with daily utility. Built with 50m water resistance, it is ready for rain, splashes, or a swim. Arriving in a bespoke burl wood box, it is a triumph of Scandinavian functionalism. #microbrand #vintagewatch #goldwatch

A warning for parents of teens who ride high-powered e-bikes and electric motorcycles: Prosecutors are increasingly holding parents criminally responsible when their children are involved in serious crashes.

One of my favourite things about neutrals is how effortlessly they all work together 🤍 I love how this pretty piece of artwork ties in so beautifully with the soft, calming tones in my daughter’s bedroom. It’s the little details that make a room feel finished ✨ . AD. Use code CARLY10 10% off @irisleegallery
