Life update: Swapped bugs for birds! Spent 3 weeks in the Galápagos studying birds for my master’s at SFSU. Darwin’s finches get all the hype, but the blue-footed boobies, giant tortoises, and marine iguanas are just as amazing!

JEWISH AMERICAN ACTIVIST ARRESTED BY IOF On October 13 at 6:40pm Oriane Sachs-Bernstein was arrested in Qawawis, Masafer Yatta while offering peaceful protective presence to a small group of Palestinians. While Oriane was in Palestine she witnessed incessant attacks by settlers, police and the IOF. Every Palestinian person she spoke with emphasized how much worse life has become since the last time she was in Masafer Yatta in 2025. Over the past two days in Qawawis, settlers cut power to a residents home two times, and then the IOF arrested the homeowner after he was assaulted by the same settlers. The Israeli government has been targeting activists at an alarming rate in the last week. Alongside the needed pressure to encourage our own governments to sanction the Zionist entity, we need to push back against this unlawful persecution of activists. We encourage those willing and able to come and defend the Palestinian people and land. We will be stronger in numbers and resistance.
