I will never insult president Tinubu. He has all my respect — Peter Obi The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said he would never ab¥se President Bola Tinubu, stressing that the President has his respect. Obi made the statement on Friday at the 2026 All Nigeria Editors’ Conference in Enugu, themed, “The Ballot, the Media and the Task of Keeping Democracy Alive.” According to the former Anambra State governor, political disagreements should centre on policies, decisions and performance rather than personal att@cks. “I cannot ab¥se any governor. I cannot ab¥se anybody in government. I don’t need to abuse people even in the federal government. I’ve never ab¥sed anybody. Who has seen me calling President Tinubu’s name? Never! I will not do that. He’s the President of the country, he has all my respect,” Obi said. He, however, stressed that respecting public office holders should not stop citizens and the media from questioning their actions and assessing their performance. “But I can argue on other issues, whether you’re doing well, or you’re not doing the right thing. That is allowed,” he added. Obi also urged editors to scrutinise politicians based on their records, statements and qualifications, noting that the character and conduct of political leaders can influence the values of the wider society. “We must, because the leader, the character and behavior of the leader exemplifies the value of the society. And the leader must live it,” he said.

To explain ourselves so simply that nobody has to think too hard to consume us. Fuck. that. An artist who never contradicts herself is either dead, lying or manufacturing shampoo. If you want to survive the next decade with your mind and your art intact, you, we all, are going to have to actively build the infrastructure to protect it. WE MUST permit some experiences to remain professionally useless. WE MUST leave the strangest parts of ourselves unnamed, and we must risk disappointing the people who only came for the encore. This is what we practice inside Creative Living. We don’t teach you how to be a better content machine. We teach you how to be a dangerously undeniable artist. How to build a body of work that outlasts the algorithm & reclaim your voice from the ruins of politeness and optimisation and consistency culture, and build a creative life that feels as rich as it actually is. (which also happens to be the most profitable art, but that’s a convo for another day) We’re preparing something massive. We are going to do the work that doesn’t photograph well. We are going to build the things that matter.
