“RUMORS”

I was recently told by some people close to me that “I have no identity outside of being gay. Everything I post on social media is gay, every hashtag is about being gay/lgbtq+ etc.” Despite the fallacy, the comments stuck with me for longer than I’d like to admit. Ever since I was 12, the best therapy for me was always to dance. So when “Rumors” came on and so many of the lyrics related to my internal thoughts, I knew it was time to create. I have been feeling super uninspired by dance lately, mostly due to the feeling of having to produce for work purposes, rather than wanting to create simply because it’s my passion. I think so much of our motivation/inspiration as artists, comes from those real life conversations/experiences and usually are the driving forces that help us to produce some of our best work. I am grateful for those moments where I feel affected enough to create. The power of dance can outshine any other emotion I’m feeling and allow me to walk away healed. My first love has always been, and will always be dance. This year I’m challenging myself to continue to create not only for work, but for fun, and for healing as well. Enjoy the first video I’ve done in a while that encapsulates all three :) So here’s to being a very gay human, artist and creator. 2025 I have plans for you!
