A man downloaded Dexter: Resurrection through BitTorrent and received a copyright infringement notice from Paramount through Starlink just two days later. Sam Guichelaar shared the incident on X, saying he had never received a warning like this before, despite years of downloading torrents. The complaint, dated October 31, came from Vobile, a company that monitors online piracy on behalf of copyright holders. It identified alleged BitTorrent activity linked to his internet connection and requested that Starlink take action. Starlink forwarded the notice, warning that downloading copyrighted material without permission could lead to his internet service being suspended or terminated, as well as possible legal action from Paramount. What caught people's attention was the speed. Within 48 hours of downloading the show, Guichelaar had already received a formal warning from his internet provider, complete with details of the alleged infringement.
