In 1961, a computer sang a song for the first time in history. The IBM 7094 performed “Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two)” at Bell Labs, marking one of the earliest examples of computer-generated singing. The machine used speech synthesis to turn digital data into a recognizable human-like singing voice. At the time, computers were mainly used for math and scientific work, making this a remarkable achievement. The moment even inspired a famous scene in Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 film *2001: A Space Odyssey*, where the AI computer HAL 9000 sings the same song as it shuts down. More than 65 years later, AI can generate entire songs, complete with vocals, instruments, and lyrics, in seconds. And it all started with a computer singing about a bicycle.
Nathan Fielder’s new movie runs 174 minutes, and one Reddit user has already figured out the best time to sneak out for a bathroom break. The tip is to wait until about halfway through, right after Nathan and Elizabeth Holmes hug during a conversation outside a car, since what follows is roughly three minutes of silent travel shots. You Can See Everything, co-directed by Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, follows the Theranos founder in the time leading up to her prison sentence. The A24 documentary was filmed largely in secret over nearly four years and opened in theaters on Friday. It’s quickly become one of the best reviewed movies of the year, sitting at 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics have called it unlike anything they’ve ever seen, though a few questioned whether it really needed to run nearly three hours. #movies #nathanfielder #cinema #amc #reddit
📽 from @胡德禄 | DY Cats can rotate their ears 180 degrees independently of each other using 32 individual muscles per ear — humans only have 6 — which essentially turns each ear into a tiny satellite dish that can lock onto sounds from different directions simultaneously, letting them pinpoint the exact location of a mouse rustling behind a wall from up to three feet away with accuracy down to a few inches.
