Bury Me With The Lo On
10th Anniversary Edition
A book by @thirstinhowlthe3rd & @tom_gould
Born in 1980s Brooklyn, the Lo Lifes came together with a common goal: to accumulate as much Polo Ralph Lauren as possible, by any means necessary. To the authorities, the Lo Lifes were criminals. But to themselves and those around them, their actions signified something else. They aspired to something greater, empowered by the American Dream that Ralph Lauren personified. They took something that felt out of reach and made it their own. In doing so, they redefined what Polo represented on the streets of New York and inspired a worldwide subculture united by the garments of Ralph Lauren.
This expanded 300-page special edition brings together never-before-seen photographs, newly uncovered archival material and new chapters, including “Polo in the Penitentiary,” exploring the status Ralph Lauren garments came to hold inside the American prison system.
“A tribute to the people who built this culture and continue to keep it alive. Thank you for the love over the past ten years. LL’s.” — Thirstin Howl the 3rd
