Mood boards mood boards! As we move towards the end of semester, we’ve been developing the public spaces in our hotel designs. Admittedly, floor plans aren’t so exciting here on instagram — so I thought I’d share the juicier, textural bit in lieu of a more exciting hero image or 3D model (watch this space!).

I spent a lovely sunny day in the studio ruminating on some reflections shared by @annacampbelljones & our first year tutor, Ed, yesterday evening during the inaugural Screen Surface Space seminar — lots of lively discussions about the pre-digital approaches to communicating design concepts.

Our first year courses really encouraged us to mix digital and analogue methods, and I can see how easy it could be to forget those important hand drawing skills. That said, we have at our disposal such an array of possibilities thanks to technology. How best to achieve a blend of these? Something I’ll be thinking about plenty over the coming weeks as submission deadlines draw closer.

For now, revelling in the end of a very enjoyable year (which will surely be followed by a significantly more challenging one!).
