Boho-sa ganda!🪷
This final project for my Fashion Trends class explores the journey of repurposing household textile—such as curtains, tablecloths, doilies and upholstery—into contemporary fashion. This aligns with the growing trend of upcycled fashion, as highlighted in The Fashion Exec’s Guide to Upcycling from Vogue Business, which emphasizes the industry’s shift towards circularity and resourcefulness.
I drew inspiration from the local brand Glorious Dias, celebrated for its commitment to this design philosophy. Using the lace curtains I thrifted, I transformed them into romantic bohemian-style garments. The delicate lace-work perfectly complements the romantic, free-spirited nature of boho fashion. And by giving a new life into what could have been waste, this project supports circular fashion with contemporary design aesthetics.
