Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has uncovered allegations that disaster relief funds managed by the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) were misused to purchase stocks. According to KPK, approximately Rp30.98 billion in funds linked to disaster-related procurement was allegedly diverted for personal interests, including the purchase of shares in PT Medela Potentia (MDLA) through PT Alfa Veritas Energizer (AVE). The funds were originally allocated to support disaster response efforts, including forest and land fires in Kalimantan and Papua, a major earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara, and floods in Aceh and Sumatra. KPK has named five suspects in the alleged corruption case, which involves suspected conflicts of interest and bribery in procurement activities between 2024 and 2026.

📍 Hildasay Island, Shetland, Scotland

There is an entire Scottish island for sale off the coast of Shetland.

I think this might be the best one yet if you want to get away from the whole world.

Not only is it your own island, but it is an Island off the coast of Shetland which itself is miles from most of the world.

Then to add to it all, you will be living in a 1 bedroom bothy, so no chance of guests staying over.

PERFECT!

This could be the perfect place to write that book you want to write or maybe become some kind of artist.

Whatever you want to do, nobody is going to distract you.

I promised my boys a trip to NYC before the end of the year (they both have never been) and some other plans fell through which made it possible to do it over fall break! It was completely last minute (I planned it in just a few days), but we had the best time. I felt like it was the perfect mix of NYC iconic sites and fun experiences like a Knicks game! (Though the request for no Broadway shows was tragic for me. 🤣)

They are 18 and 11 and both had an amazing time. 🙌

🗽If you plan to take your kids to NYC, save this post and comment NYC for the full itinerary + other trip posts I’ve written over the years. You’ll be all set!
