![Newly released messages from #NolanWellsâ phone are raising more questions about the circumstances surrounding the 18-year-oldâs mysterious dea@h.
Nolanâs family has made public a nearly 300-page forensic report compiled by Garrett Discovery and verified by PEOPLE. The findings include private #Snapchat messages and conversations from 29 group chats, some of which continued after Nolan disappeared from #HornIsland on July 4. In one exchange, a person claimed Nolan was last seen around 6 p.m. walking back toward his boat with another man, writing, âhe never disappeared with [redacted] when it was time to leave around like 6 he got off our boat with this other guy and thy started walking back to their boat.â Other messages suggested growing concern among the group, including âThere is def some sus sh*t going onâ and âSomeone said [redacted] was acting weird too?â

The conversations also reveal how some of the people believed to be Nolanâs friends discussed handling potential police questioning. In one exchange, a person advised, âthe smart move is to ask for an attorney and that doesnât mean weâre guilty it just smart so we donât get played by some potential bias cop.â Others urged the group not to make assumptions, writing, âDonât speculate about sh*t yallâ and âjust stick to what you know happened.â Another message warned, âBc they can try to get your a**.â

By July 14, conversations had shifted toward Nolanâs funeral and the growing public scrutiny surrounding those who were among the last to see him alive. One person suggested, âWe need to go to Nolanâs funeral and get with all our other black friends to prove a statement for the media.â The newly released records come as Nolanâs family continues pushing for a federal investigation into his passing. A grand jury declined to bring criminal charges, claiming that his cause of de@th was consistent with drowning. However, itâs important to note that Wellsâ autopsy found no water in his lungs. His loved ones remain unsatisfied with the grand juryâs decision and continue seeking answers.](https://s8.imginn.com/847048958_18475861114114396_3481868378089212293_n.jpg?t51.82787-15/847048958_18475861114114396_3481868378089212293_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_p1170x1170_tt6&_nc_cat=104&ig_cache_key=NDAwNzgzMTMzODU3MTc2MTQ5Mw%3D%3D.3-ccb7-5&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=58cdad&efg=eyJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6IkZFRUQueHBpZHMuMTM1MC5zZHIucmVndWxhcl9waG90by5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=L1YcytHYgwUQ7kNvwGUkPD7&_nc_oc=AdrjAez53VDMfhB7gVYmS2tMWkiEjkOUswyKjid6W5enEs_V-mPK5xM-2OeSS47EIuu30B_IQRcVLmE_D86OEG2w&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=gp2Dsi1XsrwvSt-zdflH3w&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQNXOZNN_FdYfRXDfFTGuLMQTJ8q0hG8AA28a8B5zjeDyg&oe=6AD9BB9E)
