Old hardware has a lot more life left in it than we think. A Canon 5D getting custom film-style firmware, a PS5 running Gaussian splatting, and Spotifyโ€™s discontinued Car Thing finding a second life through community-built software. The hardware was never the problem. And as AI makes software development more accessible, we might be entering an era where old tech becomes useful again in ways its creators never imagined. What forgotten piece of tech would you bring back? Credits: RITUAL @habibsfoto / @latentritual | PS5 @gradeeterna | Car Thing ItsRiprod / DeskThing | Game crossover @p0lybender
๐Ÿš” BADGE VS. BURN ๐Ÿ”ฅ Our deputies thought they could handle a Pilates workout. Revive Studio in Moorpark had other plans! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Letโ€™s just say our crew got a little more than they bargained for, and a few might have woken up sore the next morning! But it wasnโ€™t just about the workout. It was about stepping outside our comfort zone, trying something new, and supporting a local business in our community. A huge thank you to Revive Studio in Moorpark for welcoming our VCSO team, putting them to work, and showing our deputies that Pilates is no joke! ๐Ÿ’ช Turns out, protecting and serving takes strengthโ€ฆ but so does holding that plank! ๐Ÿ˜œ
