“The Israeli soldiers would raid Christian family homes, steal what was in the house…and then they ***** on the floor and scrawled swear words in Hebrew.”

Special interview episode with Orthodox nun, Mother Agapia Stephanopoulos, who spent 10 years living in Palestine and running a girls’ school in Jerusalem.

She is now using her voice to educate us on what she and the Christian community were subjected to living as a nun in Jerusalem, and to amplify the voices of Palestinians in the Holy Land.

She testified before the U.S. congress in April 2005 about the treatment of the Palestinian Christian communities she was living and working with, which led to a call by Jerusalem’s mayor’s office, Mordechai Levi, that resulted in her being removed from her role.

But that hasn’t stopped her from continuing to speak up for justice, and calling on Christians, especially in America, to wake up before the land of Christ and the historic Christian communities living on that land, are erased.

A big thanks to @pal_christians who sponsored Mother Agapia’s trip and helped make the interview possible.

Repost: @theeblackdailytx Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland just turned a piece of their Houston history into a home for people who need one. The #KnowlesRowlandHouse held its grand opening on Tuesday, October 13, a 31 unit permanent supportive housing development in Midtown Houston for people who have experienced chronic homelessness, with 16 of the units designed to be accessible. Beyoncé and Rowland marked the occasion alongside family, including Tina Knowles and Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter.

The building has deep roots. It began as the Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth, built in 1999 with money from Destiny's Child's first hit single, on the campus of the church where both families worshipped. Hurricane Harvey damaged it in 2017 and a fire hit in 2021, leaving it unused until nonprofits Bread of Life and Temenos Community Development Corporation reimagined it as an $8.4 million housing project, backed in part by a $7.2 million Harris County grant. Residents get a full rent subsidy through the Houston Housing Authority, plus services like case management, mental health support, substance abuse treatment, and life skills training.

It lands when #Houston needs it, with the city's unhoused population up 16 percent in 2025. Two Destiny's Child icons who came up here chose to leave a legacy that goes beyond music, a place where people can rebuild stability and independence.
