This is one of those strange cases where a scene from one film instantly makes you think of another, and in your memory, the two almost seem shot-for-shot identical. Of course, they aren’t. But the rhythm, atmosphere, and visual logic of the two sieges are remarkably close. Archers on the walls, ladders rising against the fortress, stones and projectiles raining down, battering rams at the gate, defenders fighting against impossible numbers, even some of the camera angles and staging feel uncannily familiar. Critics and fans have been pointing out these similarities for years, especially around Helm’s Deep. And yes, a medieval siege naturally comes with a certain vocabulary. If you’re attacking a fortress, there are only so many tools available. But the similarities go beyond props and tactics. Both battles build toward the same old cinematic rescue mechanism: when everything seems lost, cavalry appears and turns the tide. Griffith was already using this kind of last-minute mounted rescue in the silent era, long before fantasy cinema adopted it as one of its favorite dramatic devices. Then there is one small meta-detail I love. Sam Raimi hides himself inside Army of Darkness, while his brother Ted appears in several roles throughout the film. Peter Jackson does the same kind of thing in The Two Towers, during Helm’s Deep, he briefly appears on the battlements throwing a spear at the Uruk-hai. The Numbers Jackson’s battle is obviously operating on a completely different scale, more elaborate, more dramatic, and built on Tolkien’s much deeper mythology. But watching these scenes together, it is hard not to feel as if the Necronomicon had somehow found its way into Middle-earth. 2000’s Alizée 1. Moi… Lolita 2. J’en ai marre ! 3. La Isla Bonita (Madonna cover) 4. Gourmandises 5. J’ai pas vingt ans ! 6. À contre-courant 7. Ella, elle l’a (France Gall cover) Alizée, the French phenomenon of the early 2000s. Discovered by Mylène Farmer, she became an international pop sensation at just 16 with her hit “Moi… Lolita” in 2000. A CLASSIC !! Her debut album Gourmandises surpassed 4 million copies worldwide and went multi-platinum. Fun fact: In 2003, Alizée covered Madonna’s La Isla Bonita on French television. The performance went viral, particularly in Mexico! She said many times that it’s her favorite song and she still performs it live, including at her concert earlier this year ! "J’en ai marre !" (2003) confirmed Alizée’s success after Moi Lolita. The song became a major hit in France and across Europe !

This video brought back so many emotions. I remember being rejected after working with the brand for 3.5 years. It hurt, and it made me feel like I wasn’t skinny enough or good enough… I muted everyone from the industry for a while just to find some peace. In that quiet I started to understand how much it had been affecting me mentally and physically…and finally allowed myself to let that dream go Looking back, that rejection was one of the best things that happened to me. Without it i might still be modeling. Instead, I began searching for something that gave me more meaning and more control over my own life…it was a loooong journey of 10 years with failures in between haha I don’t watch the VS shows anymore simply because my interests have changed & it just doesn’t feel the same anymore to me. Something that once meant everything to me no longer does, and I never imagined I’d feel that way and it just shows how much sometimes we magnify and create our own reality. I hope Romee knows this moment doesn’t define her worth or what comes next What’s your thoughts? Are you watching it this year ? 🤍 #realtalk #vsfashionshow #modeling
Looks like this isn’t his first time doing this…😮😅
