✅ CRACK the INSTAGRAM ALGORITHM in 2025!
As years go by, Instagram seems to get harder and harder to find the audience that you need to reach due to the sheer amount of changes that are made.
(Remember those days where you could just post a Reel and it would likely reach 1000s? 😔)
Sadly, that isn’t the case anymore and they make you work harder for it!
Fortunately, the rankings that Instagram uses to determine reach for posts was recently explained by
@mosseri (Head of Instagram) and you can use this knowledge to your advantage 😎
So listen up!…
📷 Content on Instagram is ranked in 2 ways:
👉 CONNECTED REACH
This ranking determines how much REACH you will get from ACCOUNTS WHO FOLLOW YOU on your post.
Ranking for CONNECTED REACH is as follows:
AVERAGE WATCH TIME > LIKES PER REACH > SENDS PER REACH
(Likes and sends per reach refers to the ratio of likes and sends to the reach a post receives)
LIKES are weighted more heavily for CONNECTED REACH so the more likes that a post receives from followers, the more reach the poster will receive from their followers!
👉 UNCONNECTED REACH (aka recommendations)
This ranking determines how much reach you will get from ACCOUNTS WHO *DON’T* **FOLLOW YOU on your post.
Ranking for UNCONNECTED REACH is as follows:
AVERAGE WATCH TIME > SENDS PER REACH > LIKES PER REACH
For UNCONNECTED REACH - Sends are weighted more heavily in the ranking than likes!
🤔 So what does this mean for you?
👥 To be reaching more of your target audience - you should be creating content that not only resonates with them, but is also shareable!
👁️ AVERAGE WATCH TIME is king for both rankings, so you must make your content engaging enough to keep the attention of your audience!
