I need to take a moment and shout out my girl for her strength and bravery yesterday!! If you would have seen my baby girl just hours before, you would not have believed that this moment was possible. She was so crippled with fear and anxiety she couldn’t even fathom getting out of the house. She couldn’t get dressed. She was scared of getting in the car for the long drive. She didn’t want to see crowds or be in a loud space. Coming up on stage wasn’t even a part of the equation because both girls getting on stage last night was a last minute bonus to our evening. When we got to the venue, she stayed in the dressing room for over an hour, to then suddenly emerge once the storm had passed. The monster that is anxiety is real and it is crippling. It makes the most normal experience seem scary and unsafe. It’s hard as a mom to know when to push her and when to let her be. But I’m scared to let her life experience be one of solitude and isolation. As Lyric’s parents we are learning and adapting with her. We’ve never been here before but we are doing all in our power to help her navigate her world and her reality. She’s been suffering in some capacity for over three years now. What I feel to be the most normal or mundane activity for her, is overwhelming and painful. Sometimes I really feel like I’ve fucked up when I lose my cool. And it’s not out of anger towards Lyric, it’s out of anger and frustration that I can’t help my kid in her time of need. I don’t normally get this personal when it comes to our kids. I value their privacy. But I think it’s so important to let everyone know that if you struggle, you are not alone. So many people care about you and want you to live your best and most comfortable life. Reach out to loved ones. We’re here for you. You don’t need to go through this alone. And as for parents with a child going through the same, I see you and I feel you! Im lucky to have @aj_mclean by my side as we take on this monster with the help of therapists, her loving and supportive sister, great teachers, friends and family. I’m eternally grateful for our support system 🤍🙌🏻✨

There’s something incredibly powerful about honoring someone when you could easily pretend they never mattered to you. @yungmiami305, thank you for reminding us that vulnerability is not weakness, and that acknowledging someone’s contribution to your life doesn’t diminish your own. I hope this song encourages women to reflect on the friendships they’ve lost, not just by remembering how they were hurt, but by honestly considering how their own actions, words, or silence may have contributed to the ending. Because sometimes the greatest tragedy isn’t that we stopped loving each other. It’s that we stopped knowing how to love each other well. And maybe, just maybe, some conversations are still worth having. Has Yung Miami’s song to JT inspired you to have a much-needed conversation?
