No Amsterdam Marathon for me… ❌🥺💔 But I got to run the half together with my dad 🙏🏼 At least one of us enjoyed the race! 😂

Not gonna lie, I found out about two weeks ago that my injury was pretty serious: posterior tibial tendonitis…
I hoped that two weeks of complete rest would be enough to get me to the start line, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Even in the final days before race day, I was still experiencing pain at rest and while walking, and even a short test run was painful.

The result? Running the half marathon with my dad instead (and, to be completely honest, with a pretty hefty dose of painkillers 💊🥲). Mentally, I just couldn’t bring myself to miss out on the atmosphere in Amsterdam today and not be part of it at all. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to let go of a goal you’ve worked so hard towards. But I’m still grateful I got to share the experience with my dad ❤️
