The Pentagon says the firing squad execution of former U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan will be livestreamed, the Associated Press reports. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Wednesday that the execution would be “public” and that people will be able to watch it.

Hasan was convicted and sentenced to death for the 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, that killed 13 people and wounded 32. Hegseth recommended death by firing squad, and the Pentagon announced October 5 that President Donald Trump approved. Acting Secretary of the Army Adam Telle set the execution for 1 p.m. CST on December 3, 2026, at Fort Hood.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan has backed India’s youth amid travel restrictions and train cancellations ahead of the October 10 protest, saying attempts to block connectivity cannot stop young people from making their voices heard.

“These are the youth of India.
Nothing can stop them,” Paswan said, questioning how many trains, roads or routes could realistically be blocked.

His remarks came as Indian Railways cancelled several services to New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4 am and 2 pm on October 10, citing expected congestion and safety concerns linked to the planned protest.
