Infastidito dalle narrazioni stereotipate e troppo spesso sensazionalistiche della Corea del Nord, il fotografo Matjaž Tančič ha deciso di ritrarre le persone comuni, non solo i cittadini di Pyongyang, ma anche coloro che lavorano nei campi e nelle fattorie cooperative, nelle fabbriche e nelle acciaierie di tutto il paese. Tutti i ritratti sono stati scattati con una fotocamera stereoscopica, in grado di realizzare immagini che trasmettono un’illusione di tridimensionalità. Secondo lo stesso fotografo: “È l’unicità e la bellezza della tecnica 3D utilizzata per ogni fotografia che alla fine mette in risalto la natura individuale delle persone che posano per ogni scatto e i vari strati che compongono il surreale set teatrale che è la RPDC oggi”.
Questa seconda edizione di 3DPRK include 66 schede 3D, gli occhiali per la visione 3D e un libretto che spiega il progetto.
Annoyed by the stereotypical and sensationalist narratives about North Korea, photographer Matjaž Tančič set out to portray ordinary people, not only the citizens of Pyongyang, but also those working in the fields and on cooperative farms, in factories and steelworks across the country. All the portraits were taken with a stereoscopic camera, capable of producing images that convey an illusion of three-dimensionality. According to the photographer himself: “It is the uniqueness and beauty of the 3D technique used for each photograph that ultimately highlights the individual nature of the people posing for each shot, and the various layers that make up the surreal theatrical set that is the DPRK today.”
This second edition of 3DPRK includes 66 pieces of 3D cards, 3D glasses and a booklet about the project.
