Molokini Crater is 1 of 3 “tuff” cones in the entire world 🗺️. Ancient Hawaiians used this place for fishing and there is a legend that is tied to this world wonder… during World War II it was bombed for target practice because the slender shape was similar to submarines and battleships.. thankfully now it is a protected Marine Life Conservation District and Seabird Sanctuary that holds over 250+ species of fish and home to many different birds.
On our trip we got to see a super rare sighting of a Hawaiian Monk Seal! (Bro was living his Best Life 😭😄) It is one of approximately 300 left on the planet! Awesome! The boys and I swam with a monk seal. Scared us! We were snorkeling and it popped out of the dark abyss super fast right up close before swimming just as fast away.
