Weightlifting year 1 Junior szn-STATE CHAMPION🥇
Trad 275-390
I have never worked so hard for something in my entire life, not a day went by for 10 months that I didn’t think about competing at state. Went into my junior year with the expectation of medaling (placing top 6 at state) and shortly changed my goal to being number 1 . I have learned how to trust God through everything along this journey and I truly don’t believe I could’ve of accomplished my goal without him. I got to compete with and against some of the best athletes in Florida who are far better weightlifters than me . You never know what you can do until you try it especially when God is on your side.
Thank you to everyone who helped and encouraged me. Especially couldn’t of done it without these folks
@chancee.jenkinss who I call my coach and a best friend has taught me not only the form and strength side of things especially in the clean n jerk but taught me how to be the strongest mentally on that platform which I believe has just as much to do with competing as strength itself.
@kaylie_mellies the amount of support and encouragement from someone can’t be topped from what you’ve shown me. All the prayers you’ve prayed with me and the workouts you’ve shared with me and forcing me to stretch (probably my least favorite thing about weightlifting.)
Coach Mccory- never seen someone so encouraging even when you’re having the worst day. Those days in the gym when you just want to throw everything down and walk out he was there to make sure I did another rep.
And thank you to everyone who has been apart of this journey , even a simple Goodluck goes farther than y’all know . Thank you Jesus onto bigger and better things next year 🤞🏋️
