I honestly think these messages from our university kids might be my favourite thing on the internet right now! 🤣❤️

From the absolute chaos to the most random questions, the things they think to text us never fail to make me laugh. And I LOVE that you’re all sharing them with me! 😂

But do you know what else I love? Our kids are absolutely ace. ❤️

They’re out there finding their feet, figuring life out, making mistakes, solving problems (sometimes by texting Mum first 🤣) and learning how to be independent adults.

And yes, some of the questions make us wonder how on earth they’ve survived this long without us! 😂

But they’re having a go. They’re finding their way. And they’re doing us proud.

So here’s to our wonderful, slightly chaotic, occasionally clueless but absolutely brilliant kids. We’re raising a pretty fabulous bunch of young adults. 🥹❤️

Keep those messages coming because they genuinely make my day!

And remember, if they’re still texting us to ask the daftest questions, we’re clearly still needed! 🤣❤️

My dearest Sujuma, happy birthday. ❤️

How do I fit twenty years of love into a birthday wish? Two decades of knowing you, loving you, and sharing life with you—and still, I feel there aren’t enough words to tell you what you mean to me.

If I could gather every blessing whispered in prayer, every ounce of love my heart holds, and every beautiful thing this world has to offer, I would place them gently in your hands. And still, I would wish I had more to give. You deserve to feel loved every day, in the quiet, ordinary moments just as much as on your birthday.

Before you, the purest heart I knew was my mother’s. Then you came into my life, and I recognised that same kindness in you—the kind that cares without keeping count, gives without expecting anything in return, and makes another person’s pain its own. Over these twenty years, I have fallen in love again and again with the heart behind your smile.

People may read this and think I am adding too much sweetness. Let them. They are reading a caption; I have lived two decades of love with you. These words come from being cared for, understood, forgiven, and loved by you.

I always say I am your first child, and beneath that little joke is my deepest gratitude. You have held the tired, frightened, stubborn parts of me with such tenderness. Even when I struggled to explain myself, you made me feel that I had somewhere to belong.

I have watched you give so much of yourself to others—your time, your care, your strength, and even your hard-earned money—often expecting nothing in return. And I have seen how painful it becomes when people take that generosity for granted, assume you will always give, or come to you only for what you can provide.

Your kindness deserves care in return. Your heart deserves to be held as gently as you have held everyone else’s.

You have carried enough, my love. It is time to rest your head on my shoulder. Let me take more of the weight. Let me care for you and carry our family forward 💓
