When the educator is excited, the kids get excited!Math won’t be the favorite subject of every parent, and that’s ok. But our children can sense the attitude we bring to each task, so learning math alongside someone who is ENTHUSIASTIC to teach it, can make all the difference in your homeschool ❤️

I remember an amazing surgeon I worked with always talked about the school subjects he loved most as a young student, and how he thought it was because those teachers were so enthusiastic that it came through in the class and made him love the subject too!

Copenhagen has a history stretching back nearly a thousand years. Originally a small Viking fishing settlement, it developed into an important trading port during the 12th century under Bishop Absalon, who fortified the town in 1167. Its Danish name, København, means “Merchants’ Harbor,” reflecting its commercial origins. By the 15th century, Copenhagen had become Denmark’s royal capital and one of Scandinavia’s most influential cities. During the Renaissance, King Christian IV transformed Copenhagen with magnificent buildings, canals, churches, and palaces, many of which remain standing today. The city experienced devastating fires in 1728 and 1795, followed by British bombardment in 1807, but each reconstruction contributed to its distinctive architectural character. By the 19th century, Copenhagen had entered Denmark’s celebrated Golden Age, producing internationally renowned philosophers, artists, writers, and architects, including Søren Kierkegaard and Bertel Thorvaldsen. Copenhagen’s culture reflects a fascinating combination of royal tradition, Scandinavian simplicity, artistic achievement, and maritime heritage. Its colorful waterfront at Nyhavn, historic churches, Renaissance castles, and elegant squares preserve the atmosphere of an old European capital, while its modern neighborhoods reflect Denmark’s emphasis on functional design and comfortable urban living. The city is particularly associated with hygge, the Danish appreciation of warmth, friendship, and life’s everyday pleasures, often expressed through candlelit cafés, intimate gatherings, and traditional meals. Copenhagen also has a rich culinary heritage, especially its famous open-faced sandwiches, smørrebrød, alongside a thriving contemporary restaurant culture. Cycling is central to daily life, and public spaces are designed around pedestrians, bicycles, and community activities. Despite its modern reputation, Copenhagen remains deeply connected to its monarchy, Lutheran heritage, centuries-old universities, and traditional celebrations, making it a city where Scandinavian history and contemporary culture coexist.
