Orange glow or bright white light? The debate between traditional sodium streetlights and modern LED lighting is more interesting than you might think! For decades, high-pressure sodium streetlights illuminated roads and highways with their familiar warm orange-yellow glow. These lights became popular because of their relatively high energy efficiency, long operating life, and ability to provide reliable illumination across large areas. Their distinctive golden colour also gave nighttime streets a nostalgic atmosphere that many people still love today. However, as technology advanced, LED streetlights began replacing sodium lamps in cities around the world. LEDs generally consume less electricity, last longer, require less maintenance, and provide better colour recognition, making it easier for drivers and pedestrians to distinguish objects, road signs, and surroundings at night. But there's another side to the discussion! While cooler white LEDs can make roads appear brighter and clearer, they often contain more blue light, which can contribute to nighttime glare, skyglow, and disruption of wildlife behaviour if poorly designed or installed. Interestingly, warmer LED lights with lower colour temperatures can help reduce some of these concerns while still delivering the energy-saving advantages of modern lighting technology. Ultimately, the better choice isn't simply about orange versus white. Factors such as brightness, light direction, colour temperature, energy consumption, and environmental impact all play an important role in creating safer and more comfortable streets. So, which one would you choose: the nostalgic orange glow of sodium lights 🧡 or the crisp white illumination of LEDs 🤍? #sarcasm #viral #streetlights #trending #explorepage

A Vande Bharat Express gliding across the world’s highest railway arch bridge, surrounded by towering mountains and a deep river valley, has become the internet’s latest visual spectacle. Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared stunning drone footage of the train crossing the iconic Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, drawing widespread attention on social media. The cinematic video captures the Vande Bharat travelling across the massive steel structure in Reasi district, suspended hundreds of metres above the Chenab River. A drone follows the train while moving around the bridge, capturing dramatic angles from beneath the towering arch to above the railway tracks. PM Modi described the engineering achievement as marvellous and ambitious, with the footage attracting millions of views. Standing 359 metres above the riverbed, the Chenab Railway Bridge is approximately 35 metres taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The structure stretches 1,315 metres across the valley and features a massive 467-metre steel arch. Built in one of India’s most challenging mountainous regions, the bridge is designed to withstand extreme winds and seismic activity. The bridge was inaugurated by PM Modi on June 6, 2025, as part of the ambitious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. The railway corridor represents a major infrastructure milestone, providing an all-weather rail connection between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of India’s railway network. The viral footage comes shortly after another significant railway achievement. On October 2, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video showing a Vande Bharat Express crossing both the Chenab and Anji Khad bridges at 100 kmph for the first time, following an increase in the permitted speed on the Katra-Banihal section.
